Pitter Patter

So, it has finally happened. I don't think most people believe me. And why should they? I have been reading all my friends blogs - telling myself that blogs are for people with kids. Nobody wants to hear about that cute thing my dogs did today. Right?

So, I have finally begun a blog.

The odds have finally caught up to us. They always tell you about how birth control is 99.9% effective. Nobody ever mentions that .1%. Do not try to blame it on me!! Anyone who has known me for 30 seconds knows that this was not something I let slip by. The Lord has a plan for all of us. Mine apparently was not to have dogs exclusively for the rest of my life. Heck, if it was up to me I would be the crazy cat lady that lives on the corner watering her Astro-Turf in a bathrobe and curlers.

David and I went out for a nice dinner at the Museum of Glass. I got a sitter for the dogs for the weekend. I took all the precautions!!

After 5 years It finally caught up to us. I contracted Sperm Poisoning.

I waited the 12 weeks to see if this thing would stick. Then I told my friends - via text message. That way I didn't have to explain it over and over and cry every time I had to admit that I was indeed going to kick my dogs out of their room and resign them to the bathroom. Only 6 people got back to me to even consider this a possibility. Everybody else probably assumed it a joke. As if I would EVER joke about something like this. However, I can hardly blame the other 20 or so people who know me too well. I love you all.

We are now at 14 weeks, and I am still feeling the effects of early pregnacy.

Yes, we do want to find out the gender. It will make life so much easier.

I appreciate your excitement - as David is very excited too. It helps to know that so many of you love babies.

  1. What?! I totally thought it was a joke, especially since you sent it out on April Fools Day. I know it isn't what you wanted but I think it will be great. We are going to have kids at the same time. I bet David is very excited and you will be a great mom! Congratulations!
